Grapes: 49% Syrah, 36% Grenache and 15% Mourvèdre

Region: Applegate Valley of southern Oregon

About: Willie's March Notes: Cowhorn Vineyards is an organic and biodynamic vineyard and winery located in the Applegate Valley of southern Oregon, just a few miles north of the California border. They’re focused on producing Rhône-style wines made from fruit they grow on 25 acres like this GSM blend of 49% Syrah, 36% Grenache and 15% Mourvèdre. These grapes come together to form one of the most well-known red wine blends replicated throughout the world today though the classic GSM blend really owes its roots to France. The varieties aren’t always blended the same way, but they seem to always have an excellent way of complementing each other. The Syrah and Grenache here really give us a combination of tart, bright cherry and dark fruit and we get structure and tannins from the Mourvèdre. Molly and I actually enjoyed it with meatloaf and I think you should too.
